Sadly having to change the ringtone on my phone… for a long time now it has been ‘Abraham’s New Gift’ by Phronesis – a jazz trio led by the incredibly talented double- bassist and composer Jasper Hoiby. Unfortunately though I keep missing calls as the track starts with a very impressive but low sounding bass intro, which I never seem to hear when the phone’s in my bag regardless of volume… Perhaps instead, it’s time for a new phone!

Check out the link below and prepare to be stunned by the level of musicianship. ‘Eight Hours’ is one of my favourite Phronesis tracks… maybe one day I’ll see them play it live.
